October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I invited Marnie Rustemeyer to join us. She was diagnosed while she was working on Wall Street. The diagnosis changed her life. Her story is a good one and it led her to something completely different: The Billow Pillow.

Author Doreen McGettigan joined me for some Chick Chat about what we learn in midlife and also about what’s going on with her newest book. Check her out: Doreen McGettigan
I talked about yesterday’s Women on the Move luncheon by Main Line Today Magazine. If you want to see who is among the 23 women chosen this year, check it out here: Women of Influence
At the event, Dr. Marissa Weiss had a conversation with NBC10’s Tracy Davidson about breast cancer. Both women are breast cancer survivors. I talked about Dr. Weiss’ and her focus on diet. She has an interesting slide show about it: Think Pink and Eat Green.
Also, here’s are links to the report about Olive Oil and breast cancer: WebMD and the new breast cancer screening guidelines.
Finally, if you’re looking for something to do locally, take a look here: Brandywine Valley
It was Sheryl Crow whom I quoted this week. After breaking up with Lance Armstrong and, shortly afterward, being diagnosed with breast cancer, she said,
“The only person who can save you is you.
That was going to be the thing that informed the rest of my life.”
That’s good advice for all of us!
