Could you do what Reverend Susan Sparks did…at 40??
Whodathunk it? Mixing spirituality and laughter? Susan gave us so much interesting information…and made up laugh too!
Here’s more about Susan Sparks: After ten years as a lawyer moonlighting as a standup, Susan Sparks left her practice and spent two years on a solo trip around the world, including working with Mother Teresa’s mission in Calcutta, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and driving the Alaska Highway. Upon returning home, she entered Union Theological Seminary in New York City where she earned a Master of Divinity and now serves as the Senior Pastor of the historic Madison Avenue Baptist Church in New York City (and the first woman in its 165 year history), Susan is also a professional comedian. She’s been featured in O Magazine, the New York Times, on CBS, CNN and ABC. Journalist Jen Haupt may have described Susan best when she said: “Imagine a combination of Reba McIntyre and Jody Foster … in a pulpit. Add a wicked sense of humor and you have Susan Sparks.”
You can learn more about Susan Sparks at Susan Sparks and you can read an excerpt from her book here: Laugh Your Way to Grace
