Are you an empty nester or will you soon become one? Melissa T. Shultz is and she’s coming to the Friday Happy Hour. From Mom to Me Again: How I Survived My First Empty-Nest Year and Reinvented the Rest of My Life is based on a year-long series she did for the Huffington Post about her struggle with the empty nest and the transformation of her marriage, friendships, career, and ultimately herself. Melissa wrote it because she found that new parents can get their hands on to prepare for pregnancy and to help raise their children. But they have very little to help them prepare for the day their children are no longer at home.
Melissa is the acquisitions editor for Jim Donovan Literary in Dallas. She’s written about health and parenting for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Readers’ Digest, The Huffington Post, and many other publications and blogs. From Mom to Me Again is her first book. It’s part self-help, part memoir, and is filled with advice from experts as well as short stories that speak to the universal truths of parenthood.
