Pump Up the Power – #1

Power Tip for Recharging Your Attitude:
Read or Listen to Positive and Inspiring Books

Don’t you and your attitude need a break from the world news, pop news, the everyday ups and downs and whatever else could be making your life “less” instead of “more”?
During the recent “winter of snow” that was topped off by a few days without heat, I needed more than a break. I couldn’t get myself motivated to do anything except keep appointments and commitments that were already on the books. The sofa, television and food were fast becoming my go-to best friends. I needed something to remind me that a few months of snow was no match for my determination. I needed a whole attitude makeover.
Back when I was a struggling teacher with barely two pennies to rub together, I met Jeanne. She became a spiritual teacher and guide and introduced me to prosperity courses.
In March I found myself mentally and emotionally back in that same “two pennies” place. A quick online search led me to a prosperity course being offered locally. The course was Mary Morrissey’s Prosperity Plus course, which came with a set of CDs.
In addition, I discovered that one of my earliest prosperity teachers was doing a workshop in Princeton New Jersey, a couple hours from me. Edwene Gaines and her southern charm and playful attitude were just what I needed.
I enrolled in the course and listened to the CDs. I drove to Princeton and met Edwene. I started “coming back” and being myself again.
Both women referenced several books. Most of them were staples of my reading diet when I first started out. I hadn’t read any of them in years. I went into my library and pulled a couple out and started reading and remembering. My spirit started lifting.
The same thing will happen for you.
Find a book that lifts you up. A couple of my favorites: Think and Grow Rich, Acres of Diamonds, The Millionaire Mind, The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity and The Science of Getting Rich. While those books may all sound like they are money-focused (and there’s nothing wrong with that), those books are all about thinking and attitude. And, of course, there’s Victorious Woman! Shaping Life’s Challenges into Personal Victories. There’s a story of victory for whatever is going on in your life – divorce, abandonment, illness, abuse, low self-esteem and more.
And come to the Friday Happy Hour on May 9 when my guest will be the totally delightful Edwene Gaines. Her sense of humor will make you laugh, her southern charm will draw you in but it’s her common sense and her commitment to helping you be happier and more prosperous could change your life!
