Last week Joseph and I met with Pattie Painter, the celebrant for our September 22 nuptials. She asked us about different readings, suggested some and also told us we could find others on her Vows of the Heart website. The Apache Wedding Blessing has been part of almost every one of our weddings. Pattie knows it and is including it in our ceremony. I’m happy that now it will be part of Wedding#7!
I’m sharing it with you…just in case you love it for your Five-Year Marriage® as much as Joseph and I do.
Apache Wedding Blessing
Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
But there is one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place,
To enter into the days of your togetherness.
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.
